What about the other two?

The older Adams boys will be heading to school in just a few hours, woo hoo! Oh, did I say that outloud? The past 8 weeks have been...um...hard. I never thought a 3 year old and 8 year old could fight so much! I have to just dismiss the fussing as typical sibling rivalry, I guess. Perhaps in all the talk about school and sports the little ones feel a little left out. Well, be reassured that Joseph, aka JoJo and Hot Rod gets his fair share of attention. At 3 and half, Joseph has managed to accomplish more than any of the other boys. And I don't always mean good things, either. :) Yet, since the arrival of a sweet, retired couple next door, Joseph has turned into a new boy.

Anyone who knows Joseph would describe him with words such as hyper, vivacious, energetic, electric, and so on. Having an extra set of "grandparents" next door has really been a blessing.
As soon as he wakes up he says, "I need to go see Mr. Gene", and Hot Rod is off on his little red two wheeled bike. Yes, he's 3 and he's mastered riding a bike. He skipped training wheels all together. What a kid! I'm glad he was a month too young to start pre-kindergarten, and I know the neighbors are too!

Joseph has been a really good big brother to Joshua. These are his little helping hands during bathtime one day. He always is eager to get diapers, wipes or anything to help us out. I'm confident he'll be even better when the next baby comes along.

Our 17 month old, Joshua aka Jaw Jaw has started enjoying playing with his big brothers. It doesn't take much to get him to cackle while they are having fun together.

He loves playing chase, passing a ball, and pushing ride-on toys all over the place. He'd much rather push his little bike than ride it.

One of his favorite things to do is point and talk about what he sees.

We still can't make out much of what he says, but he knows what he's saying. He only has 5 months left to be the baby in the family, so he really enjoyed spending 3 days with just Mommy and Daddy while the older boys were away last week. It's hard to believe that your heart can open up so much each time a new addition comes into the family, but it does. Now if we could just find out if the boys will have a new brother or sister...just 8 more days.

Meet Mommy, aka Jennifer Adams

Now it's my turn to share a bit about myself. Jennifer Crawford graduated from Logan High School in Logan, Ohio in 1996, but I would soon change my name to Jennifer Adams. On September 12, 1996, Jeremy and I began the most difficult, exciting adventure of a lifetime together. We spent two years in college together at Life University, but in 1998, I decided we didn't need two chiropractors in the family. Plus, my maternal urges were too much to bear. I wanted a baby! So, I dedicated my entire 20's to being pregnant or nursing. No joke. Do they have some kind of award for that?

Jeremiah was born in 1999, Jacob in 2001, Joseph in 2003, Joshua in 2006 and I am due with another baby in January 2008. What greater gift can you give to the world than the gift of life? Jeremy and I have shared with the world a valuable part of ourselves, our offspring. We have certainly been fruitful and multiplied.

Motherhood does have its good days and bad. I can't say housework is my favorite thing in the world. I also would love to be organized, scheduled and on time wherever I go. I have finally quit beating myself up if my kids clothes don't match,
they forget their shoes when we go somewhere, or they completely go bonkers out in public.

Yes, children are a direct reflection of their parents, but kids will be kids. The person who said children should be seen and not heard must have skipped childhood.

So do I have interests beyond my husband and kids? Of course. My main interest is music. I love to sing and enjoy every opportunity I have to share my voice for Jesus. I have been in a Christian rock band, on praise teams, helped with other music at churches, and even do special musical performances for people. Currently I'm not singing anywhere, but I am open to whatever opportunities God has for me in the future. My dreams are to sing and speak at women's conferences and to someday record a CD. But for now, the Adams family comes first in my life!

Meet Dr. Adams

I'd like to take a minute to introduce you to the head of our family, Jeremy Adams. He is a 1996 graduate of Habersham County High School, Mt. Airy, GA. He met me, Jennifer Adams, in June of that year while on a senior trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Three months later we were married and began a new life together in Marietta, GA. During the six years we lived on campus at Life University, Jeremy completed the accelerated Doctor of Chiropractic program and became a licensed chiropractor in Georgia and Ohio in late 2002. After spending nearly a year in practice with my parents in Ohio, we headed back to Jeremy's home state. In July 2003 he began working at The Burson Clinic of Chiropractic in Monroe, GA, where he currently works today.

Beyond the doctor, there is Jeremy, the wonderful, involved husband and father. But with all his daily responsibilities, a man's gotta blow off a little steam. About 8 years ago Jeremy discovered a passion for hunting. It began with whitetail deer and now he hunts turkeys, coyotes, wild hogs, ducks, or pretty much anything that moves! He looks forward to taking some of his four boys with him on his upcoming hunts. Above is a gorgeous Ohio buck Jeremy hunted down with his bow in 2006.

A coyote was an unwelcome guest near our home back in 2004. Those are some seriously nasty canines!

A wild feral hog couldn't escape Jeremy's arrow during an evening bow hunt with friends in South Georgia in 2005.

Here are two Eastern Gobblers Jeremy took from his farm in Ohio in April 2007. Those turkeys didn't know what was coming!

Managing our 160 acre farm in Ohio has become another one of his hobbies. The farm has become a wonderful wildlife refuge and hunting preserve.
It is loaded with all kinds of God's creations. Adams Acres was recognized as a certified Tree Farm in 2006 and we continue to be a part of many conservation programs available to property owners.

School starts on Wednesday!

Where oh where has our dear summer gone? After just 8 weeks of summer vacation, the older Adams boys will tie up their new sneakers, pack up their backpacks loaded with new supplies, and venture back into the academic world. They attend Walker Park Elementary School and are really looking forward to a new year. They will have just a few months at their current school building before moving to a shiny, new school. I don't envy the teachers once transition time comes. Jeremy will serve another year on the School Council which reviews school policies and procedures.

Jeremiah will be in 3rd grade this year. He will continue to attend Focus a couple days a week, which is a class for gifted and talented students. He zoomed through the annual CRCT tests with flying colors. His favorite subjects are science, art, and english.

Jacob has become an outstanding phonetic reader who can sound out any word you give him! He is looking forward to making new friends, as he is a very social guy. Jacob knows that first grade is a whole new world than kindergarten, but he is looking forward to new responsibilities and opportunities. Some of the biggest changes in a child occur in first grade. We are so excited to start fresh again and look forward to how God will use these two little evangelists in the public school system.

Meet the Adams Family

Hey Everyone! We have decided to chronicle our exciting lives in a blog. It is neat because it soon will become a journal that we as a family and others can look back on and see how our kids have grown up as well as all the journeys God will bring us through. Jeremy is 30, Jennifer is 29, Jeremiah is 8, Jacob is 6, Joseph is 3, and Joshua is 17 months. We are also expecting another baby on January 17, 2008. We promise to let you know what we are having as soon as we find out.
