Long time, no blog

Now that school has started back, the busyness has set in. Soccer has started, too, so we will be spending many days a week at Felker Park. Jeremiah, Jacob and Joseph will all have their first game on September 8th, so look for that blog. I can't wait to see Joseph out there. I wonder if he'll get the hang of it or just run around in circles; he is just 3. The older Adams boys are getting used to school and all the homework. Jeremiah has discovered that 3rd grade is much harder than 2nd, especially all the extra work. He's getting the hang of it! Jacob is loving 1st grade. Joseph continues to visit Mr. Gene next door several times a day. He even got to go to the barber shop with him this week. Gene said he was like a little man sitting there. It's nice to have help with the boys. Don't they say it takes a village to raise a child? Have a blessed Labor Day weekend!

Great Song

This is a great song check it out. http://ladynwavsone.com/dustinthewind.html
Really makes you think about how quickly time passes and what really matters.

Fun With the Boys!!

I (Jeremy) had a great time this weekend with my boys. Their Papaw and I took the boys to the Ducks Unlimited Green Wing youth event. The boys had a blast they all received T-Shirts and other fun outdoor stuff. To start with, they watched a Snake's Alive presentation and learned alot about Georgia's native snakes. After the show they had a chance to get some hands on experience with some of the stars of the show. I wish you all could have seen little Joseph's face; he was so afraid but so excited at the same time. He wanted to hold one of the snakes so bad, and he finally worked up enough bravery to do it; it was awesome. Jeremiah and Jacob both took turns holding several different snakes. These boys love anything to do with snakes, frogs, and lizards.

Next, we headed over to the target range where Jeremiah and Jacob took turns with the BB guns. They both did great. Jeremiah has bragging rights for now after hitting the bulls eye with the open-sighted BB gun at 20 yards. We headed home after the BB gun shoot since the 100 degree heat was tough on all of us. The boys went to Grandma's to swim and I (Jeremy) fired up my Papa's old tractor.

It's time to start working down on the river to get things ready for hunting season. There is lots to do and not much time to get it done, hard to believe fall is just around the corner....

Let's Hear It For the Boys!

Well, we are pleased to announce we are expecting boy #5!
Introducing Jerin Esau Adams....(or whatever name we settle on)
The minute the ultrasound technician got started I saw evidence of a boy. And to my surprise instead of being disappointed, I said, "thank you , God!" I would say I already know how to raise boys pretty good, so I am thankful not to have to learn anything new in the parenting department. Our 3D/4D ultrasound session was very exciting. The baby was very cooperative and put on quite a show.

He showed us he could suck his thumb and he stretched to show us his healthy heart.
All this out of a baby who's only been growing for 17 weeks. Isn't the creation of life amazing? Is there any question this is a baby and not a fetus? We are so thankful for yet another healthy baby and anxiously await meeting him in January. Thanks for all your prayers. And for those of you who said you were praying for a girl...it just isn't part of God's plan for the Adams Family, and that's fine with me. :)

Getting back an old friend.

Several months ago I (Jennifer) had an opportunity to buy back my first car. I considered it such a blessing because most people never see an old car again, let alone get to buy it. Of course, not too many people care to get a 20 year old car back in their care. Well, I was only 10 when my BMW 325i convertible was "born", just so you know. My parents bought it used but in mint condition in the early 90's and passed the keys to me when I turned 16. Awesome! I enjoyed my last two years of high school so much thanks to "Bimmy". Plus, my car was just so cool. While some friends were jaunting around in a Geo Metro, here I was in a luxury car, a BMW. Man, that car gave me such a big head! I entered into marriage, keys still in hand, but as the birth of our first son approached, we knew a two-door convertible wasn't exactly family approved. So, bye-bye Bimmy. I wasn't too sad at the time because I upgraded to a BMW sedan and then a New 1999 Suburban, which has been used to haul around our brood for the past 8 years.

Yet, as gas prices soared close to $3.oo a gallon, I pined for a little scoot around car to run errands in. I certainly didn't take four kids 8 and under with me everytime I went to town. But it's just so hard finding a used car that is reliable, and reasonably priced. Just when I had given up the thought of adding a little car to our vehicle repatore, I received a phone call. It was my mom telling me my car was in my home town, was still in great condition and was for sale. SOLD! We made a special trip all the way to Ohio just to get it. My husband sure is sweet for doing that! And I promise you, I grinned from ear to ear all 600 miles home, even without air conditioning.

The boys and I really enjoyed scooting around in my car over their summer vacation. We all crammed in there, and did we ever save money on gas! We also got a lot of use out of it watching fireworks on the 4th. Yes, I can legally only fit half of my growing family in my new ride, but that was the point. There's nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself as you drive around town, even if it's in an old classic BMW. Thanks to everyone for helping me get my old friend back. It's nice to be a little selfish when you have such a selfless job as I do, being a fulltime, at home mom.
